Gail Lowenstein, M.D.
Dr. Gail Lowenstein is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Holistic Medicine, and has added qualifications in Functional Medicine. Additionally, she is a certified wound specialist from the American Academy of Wound Management, and is a certified medical director from the American Medical Directors Association.
Dr. Lowenstein had a 24-year career as the chief medical officer of the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a facility dedicated to the well-being of Holocaust survivors. With the support of grant funding, she founded the Holistic Program, which was designed to address body, mind, and spirit. In addition to providing oversight to the long-term and short-term rehabilitation patients, she also provided oversight to the Center’s inpatient hospice unit and adult day health care center.
Dr. Lowenstein now provides home visits for the frail elderly, designed to prevent hospitalization and support aging-at-home. She also offers telephone consultations to provide medical guidance for the aged.
Dr. Lowenstein teaches an annual 10-week course on Holistic Healing/Holistic Weight Loss, and is the founder and coordinator of CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) Group for physicians and other health care professionals.
